Summary
This week was remarkably quiet. Fairly busy, so nobody died of boredom, but the most offensive client interaction I had was a woman who didn't want to bring her cat in because she thought the vet would just tell her she needed to put it down. What is up with that? do people really think we get into this job because we don't want to try helping? bah.
My mom went to Reno recently with my gran'rents. She asked if I wanted any booze while she was on the town. I told her I like apple cider. (I think I specifically mentioned cider jack.) She brought me back 2 750mL bottles of apple jack. For quick reference, cider jack = appx 7% alcohol. apple jack = 40% alcohol. Not the same critter! So, uh, anybody wanna come help me drink this? It's pretty rare that I sit at home and drink by myself. ;)

But you misunderstand. She doesn't want the cat put away. And she had somehow convinced herself that the only option a vet would give her is that. As if we wouldn't try to keep the cat comfortable if it is some sort of terminally ill, or treat whatever it's got that we can.
