PeTA is begging me for money. Again.
Aug. 20th, 2007 12:21 pmIn the last 3 days, I've received 2 identical emails from PeTA (well, different subject lines, but the text is the same) spouting about how grand they are and asking for my money.
"Every year, PETA receives about 14,000 requests for help with specific cruelty-to-animals cases. While these cases generally do not receive the same amount of publicity as the Vick case, they are no less important or urgent. This is not about headlines; it's about stopping suffering—and every animal is worth fighting for."
It's not about headlines? HAH! PeTA does so much crap designed exclusively to get headlines that I cannot believe anything they do is withough a serious angle for publicity.
And if every animal is worth fighting for, why do they put down thousands of animals at PeTA shelters every year?
Stuff and nonsense!
The email then goes on to tell a (touching, I'm sure) story about a rescued dog--though I'm not really sure why they bother, since there was nothing PeTA did except relay information to the local animal control. Had the person who contacted them simply contacted animal control directly, exactly the same course of events would have ensued. Yay! Go PeTA!
Bah. Humbug. Or something.
