Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet, LLC, a Winchester, Virginia company, is recalling its Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet Classic Cheddar Cheese Spread distributed between August 1 and August 10, 2011, with a “Best By Date” of December 23, 2011 and batch code number 0116206G113 because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

County health inspectors closed Marinepolis Sushi Land in downtown Bellevue, Washington, at 4 p.m. Thursday after two separate patients with salmonella were connected to the restaurant, according to Seattle and King County Public Health.

The number of people sick from a bad batch of mussels from Salt Spring Island is now up to 50. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency put out an warning on Sunday about mussels harvested by Salt Spring Island based "Island Sea Farms" between July 19th and August 2nd.Doctor Eleni Galanis with the BC Centre for Disease Control says they may be contaminated with Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning biotoxin or DSP. "Unfortunately, it's not a toxin that can be denatured or killed by cooking so even though the mussels have been well cooked, people can still become ill."

McNees Meats and Wholesale LLC., is expanding its recall to include approximately 2,200 pounds of ground beef product that may be contaminated with E. Coli O157: NM (non-motile).
The products subject to recall include:
1 and 10-lb. clear packages of “McNees Ground Beef Bulk.”
1 to1.5-lb., approximate weight clear plastic bags of “McNees Ground beef patties.”
1-lb. packages of “McNees Ground Round.”
1 and 2-lb packages of “McNees Ground Beef Bulk” sold in red and white plastic bags.

Winn-Dixie is voluntarily recalling the following items from its in-store bakeries because the products may be mislabeled:
•Winn-Dixie Lemon Bar cakes
•Winn-Dixie Chocolate Cherry Bar cakes
•Winn-Dixie Bakery Iced Cinnamon Rolls (six pack)

XYMOGEN® of Orlando, FL is recalling specific lots of 3 Varieties of OrganiX Bars: Omega-3, Spice and Greens, because they may contain undeclared peanut protein. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanut protein run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Merrick Pet Care recalled one lot of Doggie Wishbone treats which are potentially contaminated with Salmonella. No illnesses have been reported, and no consumer complaints have been filed, FDA officials said. The recall includes all treats distributed with lot number 11031. The recalled packages have a “best by” date of Jan. 30, 2013.
