Lol. Yeah, vaccinations rule. There is a whole lot of stuff we just take for granted when we are raised in the "civilized" West, because our world has been made safe by science for so long. It is only when you leave that unreal disney land, beyond the Carpathians or the Bosperus, that you get to appreciate the worth of vaccinations, antibiotics, analgetics, reliable emergency services, rozers that aren't bent, reliable electricity, running fresh water, 24h shops that sell you everything you might ever need and then some, hell, free access to soap in every bloody public loo.
Yeah; it frustrates the bejeezus out of me how many people in our clean, civilized world demonize medicine, sterility, and vaccination. Though not as a much as it pisses me off that people leave our clean, civilized areas and go to Africa to tel the people who have limited access to medicines to start with that they need to avoid doctors and just take this vitamin supplement and they won't ever get HIV. Far as I'm concerned, that there is premeditated mass murder.
Like encouraging or even enforcing insecticide bans in places that have Malaria... kills thousands of peeps every year, waaaay more than the insecticides ever would.
Indeed. There are so many scientific advances we take for granted. Look at how great mosquito netting is, and how few people had it until so recently (and how many people still don't have it!) despite the risks of vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue.
