I LOVE full moon weekends!

Ok, so the full moon isn't actually for another couple days. but still... this is the phone conversation I just had:

Bloke: I've got a sick puppy, can I bring her in?
Me: Well, what's going on?
Bloke: She's having trouble breathing, if you listen to her she sounds kind of gurgly. She got sick a while ago, and we gave her some penicillin and human antibiotics and she sorta snapped out of it and got worse again.
Me: How old is she, and how long has she been sick?
Bloke: She's about...well, she's had her parvo shot... she's 4 months old, I think.
Woman in background: she's 6 months old
Me: Ok. how long has she been sick?
Bloke: about 3 1/2 weeks now
Me: Well, has anything changed that makes it an emergency tonight, or is it something that can wait until tomorrow? If she's been sick for that long, what made you call tonight?
Bloke: Just that if we wait until tomorrow she'll probably be dead.
Me: Alright...
Bloke (interrupting): I've got $75 I can put down on her, but that's all.
Me: That'll cover an exam if you come in tonight, but not any medications or x-rays or anything. If you come in during office...
Bloke (interrupting): Um, just... can I call you back?
Me: Yeah, that's fine.
