A happy story from work.

Sorry, but it has to start with someone being stupid. This is the story of an abandoned kitten that I saw at the clinic the other day.
He presented very thin, with patchy hair, dry/flaky skin, very itchy all over. Long list of diagnoses: malnutrition, fleas, ringworm, ear mites, upper respiratory infection.
The good part? He now has owners who are willing to spend the money to vaccinate and treat the little critter, and will make the effort to bathe said critter in anti-fungal shampoo. Yay for soft-hearted saps who take home the scroungy runts!

And another--
This one over the phone: I actually had a very pleasant conversation with a gentleman who was considering getting a puppy and wanted to know BEFORE HE HAD A PROBLEM what the recommended vaccination, deworming, and neuter schedule was. Hurray!

yup indeed.

Got another one for you--had a spay cat that ended up being a cryptorchid neuter instead (one nut still up in the abdomen). And by pure, unadulterated luck, the testicle was right where i made my incision--didn't have to go hunting at all :)

It's nice to share a story of Not Idiocy every now and then isn't it?
