Sometimes I hate Germans and people in general. I really do.

Here's why:

On Friday I was going to meet some friends, so I got on my bike and got myself into a little accident in the middle of a crossroad. The front wheel must have gotten trapped in a pothole or in the tracks of the tram, I honestly don't remember. Anyways, so I flew headfirst over the handle bar, the rest of my bike following me. Luckily my elbows stopped the fall, but decided to share the better part of their skin with the asphalt.

So I was lying there, with my bike on top of me, my head spinning. In the middle of the crossroads, mind you. And all the car drivers were very considerate. They slowed down considerably AS THEY DROVE ON! Not one of them even lowered the window to ask if I was OK.

You know, there is a PR campaign here in Cologne with the slogan "Kölner helfen Kölnern" (loosely to be translated as "The people from Cologne look out for one another.") that wants us all to believe that the people all around us are a friendly, considerate lot. FUCK THAT. I want to break the legs of the person who thought this up and put him right there on the road where I was.

And another thing.

I guess you've notived how all around the western world newspapers are bashing Muslims and the religion of Islam for their alleged affinity for hate and their dislike for Christians and (blah blah blah, insert the media spin of the day here).

The ONLY ones coming to my help were two gentlemen from the Arab café on the corner where the accident happened. But you don't read that in the papers. I should really get this shirt tomorrow (http://itsnotallbad.com/iamnotaterrorist/). Maybe it'll make some people think more about their own prejudices.
