Timeliness
Oct. 24th, 2007 10:34 pmThis lady, we'll call her Ms. Timely, had an appointment this afternoon with Dr. S. She showed up at 10:30 in the morning. She was told that her appointment was at 1:30, and that Dr. S. was out on a farm call right now. She was given the option of coming back at 1:30, or seeing one of the other doctors between our morning appointments. "It has to be Dr. S! Trixie just likes him SO much, I can't possibly see a different doctor! After all, Dr. S knows her so well and has always done every thing she's needed!" (The appointment was not for any kind of medical issue, mind you, it was for a health certificate for travel--so it's a continuing health case that coming back to the same doctor really matters.)
So come back at 1:30?
Well, can't I get in any sooner than that? Really no--not if you insist on seeing Dr. S, because he's OUT ON A FARM.
When will he be back?
Probably sometime between 1 and 1:30--after he eats lunch but before your appointment time.
Oh. Well, can do you have any time later in the afternoon? I have an appointment at 1....
After about 15 minutes of around in circles on what time she could come in and what time her other appointment would end, and when Dr S would be back, and REPEAT, Ms. Timely finally decided that the best time for her to come in would be...everyone ready for this?
1:30!
eeeeeh.
