New beasty

I (or rather, the non-profit version of me) am now the proud (?) owner of a 4 year old male pomeranian mix. To be neutered and have an eye taken out later today. Then to be re-homed if I can find anyone interested in a cute little black fluffy thing.

Back story: This was a quarter to closing walk-in last night. Woman says the dog belongs to her son-in-law and daughter-in-law. No, really, she said that. I didn't ask for clarification, I'm rather hoping it was a mis-speak, but this IS hick-ville. She stopped by to visit and saw the dog. With his eye pushed forward out of the socket. No idea what happened or how long it's been like that, but the eye is DEAD. Crusty, black, hard corneal surface. Might as well have a marble face. And, surprise surprise surprise, no money.
