Or should we just teach people to wash their freaking hands after playing with animals?

Pet frogs are being blamed for a national salmonella outbreak that sickened at least 48 people.
The illnesses occurred from June through November, with reports coming in from 25 states. Health officials investigating the illnesses found that many of the people said they'd been in contact with frogs such as the African dwarf frog.

Who the heck is handling African dwarves anyway?!?! They are fully aquatic and most could sit on a quarter! You will hurt them if you handle them! Stop sucking down the frogs as a drunken game, folks! Lol!

Oh, as usual, there were lots of youngsters involved. I'm sure kids stick their hands in the aquarium and try to catch the frogs, then the parents don't make them wash their hands, and fingers end up in mouths. Same sort of shit that makes turtles such a poor choice of pet for kids.

My dwarf frog is dumb as a jar of pickles and I have to feed him by hand. I COULD GET SALMONELLA?!?!?!?!?! OMG!!!

in a chuckly sort of note, there is a combination book/plush frog thing that we sell in the kids department at Borders, and the manufacturer/publisher recalled it because the eyes could 'detach and cause a potential chocking hazard' So when you said can they recall frogs, I was like "Duh, I totally did that yesterday...."
