If you are too damn stupid to tell your child to wash his hands after playing with the snakes, and your child's damn caretaker is too fucking stupid to wash HER hands after cleaning up the sick child, then you bloody deserve salmenellosis. Don't sue the damn zoo for your own fucking stupidity you stupid fucking fucks. This public message brought to you today by 3 nights straight of very little and less than entirely good sleep, and a cranky/tired/hungry draggon.

They'll probably win, because the zoo didn't have the obvious posted. Kinda like McDonalds and "hot drinks are hot!"

How obvious does it have to be? I would think that it fall under common sense. Which means, of course, that you're right and they probably will win, and put the zoo out of business entirely cuz it can't afford the suit or something.

Well, this is a common fear we have at the shelter. That someone's going to get bit or scratched, and then sue us. Actually, it already nearly happened once, with our shelter cat Sumo. He scratched an old guy, the staff member suggested that he see a doctor, as cat scratches and poor circulation are a bad combination, and he didn't until the infection was already bad. And Sumo is to this day not allowed to be at the front window where visitors might pet him.

Really, we should have a great big sign at the entrance that says something like "all animals may bite, scratch, or carry transmittable diseases! Handle at your own risk. And wash your hands when you're done!"

Yup. There's a thrift store in spokane that has a sign saying something to the effect of

We have store cats. They have claws. Do not pick up the cats, do not let children pester the cats. You may pet the cats if they approach you, but if you chase or annoy them, you will get scratched.
