Wright County Egg in Galt, Iowa, has launched a recall of eggs sold under multiple brand names: Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph's, Boomsma's, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps. They were distributed nationwide. The recall covers eggs in their shells packed between May 16 and Aug. 13. They come in cartons ranging from six to 18 eggs and are marked with plant numbers P-1026, P-1413 and P-1946. The eggs should be returned for a refund and not consumed.

I like my eggs over medium... where the whites are cooked through, but the yolks are runny. Or I like them plopped raw in the bottom of a soup bowl, with the simmering soup poured in on top, mostly cooking the egg. But near as I can tell, my plant number starts with an N, probably because it's one of the "cage free" Lucerne brands.

I must also point out that it's rather disturbing that they are just now getting around to recalling eggs that were packed in May. Shouldn't those eggs have been long since used or tossed out by now?
