What the bejeezus?

In two separate incidents on September 11 (the recent one), F-16s were scrambled to escort planes on which "suspicious activity" had been reported. That activity: using the bathroom. Frontier Flight 623 and American Flight 34 were escorted to their destinations after passengers either made "too many" trips to the bathroom or stayed there "too long."

It is patently obvious that the entire country has lost its collective fucking mind.

For me the money quote was, "an unnamed 'security official' was quoted as saying simply that they were 'not compliant'".
Or maybe, "remember that the F-16s are not there to help you. They are there to shoot down the plane".

As a point of fact, no, this does not make me feel better. Nothing TSA has done in the last several years has made me feel better, unless by "better", one means "cranky, annoyed, frustrated, and exasperated". Please note that "safer" is not in the list of things TSA makes me feel. And I don't travel as much as you do.

Though I did hear that they'll be letting people wear their shoes again someday.
