Gripe, gripe, gripe
Jul. 1st, 2008 03:02 pmAll I ever do, right?
This one's general: Why do people insist on saying "it doesn't seem to bother him" about whatever injury or disease I've just told them their critter has? Obviously it bothers them, or they would be using the leg, or eating normally, or not doing whatever you brought them in for! Just because the dog doesn't sit in the corner screaming does not mean that it doesn't hurt. (wow, triple negative there.)
This one's specific: remember the comment a few days ago about waiting a month to bring in the dog when you know it has bladder stones? Owner canceled the surgery. Bah! I guarantee you THAT is bothering the dog--it's got more stones than bladder, and several of the stones are bigger than my thumb. Treat the dog, dammit. Don't pretend it doesn't have a problem. Pawn the TV if that's what it takes to come up with the money.
And another one: don't blame the doctor or the meds for the pet's issue if you don't follow the instructions. Certainly don't bring the dog in and say the meds that the other doctor gave you a YEAR ago for an infection didn't work because now it has another infection. You never came back for a recheck, and if it didn't work, why the Hell did you wait a YEAR before coming back? Would you blame your doctor if you got over the flu in the spring and then got a cold in the fall? Be just a little bit reasonable on occasion!
