The First Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Pay up, ya fucker. Ctrl-F-ing "separation of church and state" and coming up blank does not give you the right to ram a crucifix down your country's collective throats.

In theory it's not... since most of the folks voting all belong to the same religion, it often ends up seeming that way though. Too bad for me that I don't agree with everything that religion spouts, yeah?

This is actually a brilliantly manipulative trick that will work on 99% of it's target audience. Because you see the phrase "separation of church and state" is not in the constitution. Yes, that's right, they are talking about the exact phrase, not the idea. And since nobody ever calls them on it, or if they do they let them get away with "well that's open to interpretation" or something else lame, they continue to pull this utter bullshit little manipulation.

And the people they are talking to are already convinced so they don't care that it's just a political manipulation even if they notice it.
